We all can play a part in making Maryland roads and highways safe for everyone.

The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation welcomes the opportunity to develop new corporate relationships. For corporate sponsors, partnership with the Foundation offers a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of all Maryland motorists, keep your employees safe when driving during company time and reduce overhead costs to your business.

In 2007, the economic cost of crashes to employers was $200 billion in medical care, legal expenses, property damage, and lost productivity. The average on-the-job crash costs an employer thousands of dollars and crashes involving injuries cost substantially more. Yet, these crashes are largely preventable.

The Foundation has announced a call-to-action for 100 corporate businesses in the Maryland private sector to pledge change within their organizations related to motorist safety, with the intent of reducing highway deaths in Maryland.

H&S Bakery/Northeast Foods

With more than 2,000 employees, H&S Bakery/Northeast Foods is working with the Foundation on numerous driver-safety initiatives and is an active participant in the Foundation’s Action Agreement Program.

H&S Bakery is the largest privately owned bakery in the United States and has grown into the largest specialty hearth baker on the East Coast with over 100 hearth-baked varieties of breads, rolls and speciality items. Still family owned and operated by second and third generation family members, the company's affiliates include 15 state-of-the-art baking facilities operating in 11 states with distribution in 23 states.

Since 1965, Northeast Foods has been a key supplier to the McDonald's fast food chain and is now the largest supplier of buns in the United States. LifeBridge Health

With more than 7,000 employees, LifeBridge Health is working with the Foundation on numerous driver-safety initiatives and is an active participant in the Foundation’s Action Agreement Program.

LifeBridge Health is a regional health care organization based in northwest Baltimore City and Baltimore County. LifeBridge Health consists of Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, Northwest Hospital, Levindale Hebrew Geriatric Center and Hospital, Courtland Gardens Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, LifeBridge Health & Fitness, and their subsidiaries and affiliates. Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund

With nearly 400 employees, the Maryland Automobile Insurance Fund (MAIF) is working with the Foundation on numerous driver-safety initiatives and is an active participant in the Foundation’s Action Agreement Program.

MAIF has generously donated $100,000 to the Foundation in which to support and fund the Foundation’s numerous driver-safety programs and initiatives and is a committed partner in helping reduce the number of senseless deaths on Maryland roads and highways.

MAIF is an independent agency of the State of Maryland that provides automobile insurance to eligible Maryland residents that have been turned down by two private carriers or cancelled by one.

MAIF was created by the Maryland State Legislature in 1972 for the purpose of providing automobile liability insurance for those residents of the State of Maryland who are unable to obtain it elsewhere in the private insurance market (Source: http://www.emaif.com).

Whiting-Turner

With more than 2,000 employees, Whiting-Turner is working with the Foundation on numerous driver-safety initiatives and is an active participant in the Foundation’s Action Agreement Program.

National Security Agency

With more than 20,000 employees, the NSA is working with the Foundation on numerous driver-safety initiatives and is an active participant in the Foundation’s Action Agreement Program.

The NSA is the Nation’s cryptologic organization, home to America's codemakers and codebreakers and has provided timely information to U.S. decision makers and military leaders for more than half a century.

NSA is unique among the U.S. defense agencies because of its government-wide responsibilities. NSA provides products and services to the Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, government agencies, industry partners, and select allies and coalition partners.
