The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation held its last quarterly meeting of 2009 at Gilman School. The meeting showcased the partnership that MHSF has with the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center. Gilman students attended a powerful graphic presentation produced by Shock Trauma showing the physical and emotional consequences of traffic crashes.
Other partnerships announced at the meeting included Motor Vehicle Administration, Stevenson University and MADD.

The Maryland Highway Safety Foundation will hold its first quarterly meeting of 2010 at the Calvert House in Annapolis, MD. The meeting will focus on several key issues which include: 2010 Legislative initiatives including revisiting the texting law to prohibit the reading of messages and ignition interlock device usage in Maryland; MVA's driver safety efforts, which include the updating of the non-commerical based knowledge questions, improvements to the skills test, expansion of the on-the-road test pilot program, and legislation on graduated licensing; and MHSF's strategic partnerships with Motor Vehicle Administration, Stevenson University, R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center and MADD to build public awareness. Additionally, this meeting will celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Motor Vehicle Administration.
